The members of CellNetworks would like to take the opportunity to thank our funding partners.

Most of our funds are provided by the Excellence Initiative of the Federal Republic of Germany and the States of the Federal Republic of Germany via the German research organization DFG.

Many of our members are generously funded by the Chica & Heinz Schaller Foundation for the Advancement of Biomedical Research. The C.H.S. Foundation provides support by implementing "Schaller Research Groups at the University of Heidelberg and DKFZ" and by presenting the annual Chica and Heinz Schaller Research Award.

The funding through 3rd parties is very important to maintain the excellent research of CellNetworks and its members. Besides the funding lines for the clusters as a whole, there are also ways for individual researchers or research teams to ensure the financial provision of their outstanding work, such as ERC Grants by the European Research Council or Collaborative Research Centers, called SFBs, funded by the German Research Foundation DFG. These funding lines are competitive systems, in which only highly renowned scientists with top ideas are selected. We are proud that many of our members were able to obtain such means of support for their research. Even among the top-notch science community at the Heidelberg University, the achievement of the CellNetworks members is outstanding. At the Heidelberg University, researchers have so far won 47 ERC Grants and SFBs, 24 of these have been granted to CellNetworks members, plus 6 ERC Grants by non-university members.
