ERC Synergy Grants for Heidelberg Scientists

Jan Lohmann (COS) and his colleagues Michael Boutros (DKFZ), Wolfgang Huber (EMBL) und Oliver Stegle (EMBL/DKFZ), as well as Jochen Wittbrodt (COS) and his colleague Ewan Birney (EBI, Hinxton, UK) receive an ERC Synergy Grant over the next six years.

Twenty seven research groups across Europe have won highly-coveted ERC Synergy Grants. Worth in total €250 million, this funding enables groups of two to four lead researchers to bring together complementary skills, knowledge and resources to jointly address research problems at the frontiers of knowledge. The grants are part of the EU's research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020.

Among them two groups from Heidelberg with Jan Lohmann (COS; Uni Heidelberg), Michael Boutros (DKFZ), Wolfgang Huber and Oliver Stegle  (EMBL Heidelberg) as well as Joachim Wittbrodt (COS Heidelberg) and Ewan Birney (EBI, Hinxton, UK).
