Description:
After finishing his PhD in physics, Simon Anders joined first EMBL-EBI, then EMBL Heidelberg, to work in biostatistics. He has authored several bioinformatics software tools, including the widely used DESeq tool for comparative analysis of RNA-Seq and other sequencing data. After a short time in Helsinki, he is now setting up a group at ZMBH, focusing on methods for exploratory analysis of large data sets in molecular biology.
